The previous Alliance only FCMs were not bringing enough Alliance to the realm. So we are now trying something different. All of the realms that are source realms for FCM to Laughing Skull are either Alliance dominated or were until only very recently.

Anyhow, the main reason for this particular FCM is population related. Your realm is low populated and we want to help realms that are highly populated find a new and less crowded home. Sometimes people don't like it when any group of characters moves to their realm, especially if they are of the faction already dominant. But it is part of our continuing effort to ensure realm populations stay healthy across all realms. Don't worry, we still have faction balance in mind and we will be watching this carefully.

Well just so you know, sometimes when we open up FCMs on Wednesday, like we did yesterday, sometimes the rush to use the process has in the past meant delays of 24 hours or more. Anyhow, we'll see what we can find out and see if everything is going smoothly or not.

We may consider opening Horde FCM on this realm, but we haven't as yet because Alliance is dominant. But if we did, Chamber of Aspects would not be the destination realm for Horde as that realm needs more Alliance love right now. ;-)

We have been working on resolving the issues on Tarren Mill and we have a thread about it here:

Our full focus is on resolving the issues the realm is experiencing, and things like FCM are not currently seen as the way to solve the issue: FCM is for balancing realm populations and factions.

Please keep all future questions relating to Tarren Mill to the above thread, as we will not be able to further respond about them here in this thread.

It is unlikely this Role Playing realm will get FCMs away from it any time soon -- in fact as you can see the only FCMs are to the realm. FCMs are done for balancing realm populations and factions, we want to help encourage a healthier population on The Sha'tar, and not reduce it.

OK that was quicker than expected! I checked with our technical staff and the FCM queue is actually pretty big right now -- these new FCMs we setup yesterday are seemingly quite popular! :-) But unfortunately this equates to delays in the time it takes to move. :-(

Anyhow the good news is we've increased the number of processors dealing with the FCM queue and it should be moving quicker now than it was before. We're going to keep an eye on it though and if we have any further update we'll post it here in this thread.

Lelemudina, if the character move completes for you, we'd appreciate if you tell us here -- and good luck ;-)

This is a general update for all people currently waiting on free Character Moves. There seems to be a very large queue and for some reason the queue isn't being processed as fast as normal and some have been waiting for exceptional times for their FCM to complete. We want you to know we are sorry about this delay, and that we are also investigating and trying to see what's going on and whether we can help alleviate this situation. We realise this can be frustrating and we are doing our best to resolve it.

Just to add -- do not cancel an FCM in a queue and reinitiate it. If you do that, you are placed at the end of the queue again.

Since Boulderfist is recommended for New Players and since we have FCMs going to it (and Alliance characters are already using those FCMs), let's say we are cautiously optimistic. Whatever the case, I think you can see with both the New Player tag and FCMs to Boulderfist, we are quite focused on improving the overall state of this realm. Which, one might argue, should be seen as a good thing :-)

Can I transfer them all to the same server? I don't have a preference which server so long as it's the same type and not ridiculously underpopulated (that would be rather self defeating), so how do i know the population of the destination?

For our Normal RP realms, as you know Argent Dawn is by far the highest populated and indeed usually has queues. As you can see, we have FCM from Argent Dawn to all the four other Normal RP realms, all of which have a similar population to each other. All four are Alliance dominated to some degree (as is Argent Dawn), but The Sha'tar and Earthen Ring are somewhat more faction balanced than the others.

And just to add, none of them are what could be called underpopulated.

A bit confused by this... the FCMs are at your choosing (based on what we have available). So if you choose to send all characters to one realm, they will go to that one realm. Does that make it clearer? :-)

Thanks for the opportunity that these FCM provides us but Im sorry to say this, that Im trying to to move some of my characters from Darksorrow to Boulderfist but its taking so long, its been 36 hours and status is still Pending . Average Wait Time: 11 Hours and its increasing everytime i checked. all of these characters got stcuked for migration and only DK is available and most of times gets boot out of realm or gives me errors that i cant login now.

its getting annoying , i just wanted to know how long it will take.

No change since our last post, hence no update. We continue to investigate and work on trying to clear the queue faster.

The issue that was preventing the FCM queue from properly processing has now been fixed. The queue should now properly decrease with time, rather than the opposite. We sincerely apologise for the length of time this issue has taken to resolve.

As it happens, of course we are aware that Silvermoon is extremely Alliance dominated. What you are not taking into account is that it is also very highly populated in general. We cannot send anyone of any faction to that realm using FCMs without causing more harm than good. So the focus needs to be on reducing the Alliance side more, to allow space for more Horde. This is why we have Alliance only FCMs away from the realm.

We can assure you that when we posted, it was after receiving news that something had been resolved. However, our technical teams are still looking into the FCM queue right this minute to see what is going on and why it is still taking so very long. Please don't assume a lack of blue responses in this thread means nothing is going on, it just means we are not in the office to post. We continue to try and address this.

My above comment was just in regard to this thread and the Community team to which I belong. Let me repeat once more, our technical teams are looking at this issue right this very moment and will continue to do so.

Our technical teams have not yet been able to resolve the issue preventing the FCM queue from being processed. When we have an update for you, we will be sure to post it here in this thread.

It is highly likely that because of the issues with this current round of FCMs that we will simply extend the existing FCMs for another week, when we renew them on Wednesday afternoon. The reason why we can't give a definite reason is that there is a very small chance that one of the destination realms might reach too high a population for us to continue FCMs to that realm for another week, but note this is very unlikely especially considering the current issue with the queue. So no promise, but as close to one as we can give.

No further update as yet, unfortunately.

An update for those waiting on FCMs: a further issue has been identified and corrected. Hopefully this is the last of the issues that have prevented the FCM queue from being processed as quickly as usual.

We are not leaving it at this, though. We are still looking into it in case this isn't the final thing that needed to be fixed. Even if we do feel it was the last issue remaining, we will continue to actively monitor the queue and update this thread as and when we can.

Don't cancel it (unless you want to actually cancel). Sometimes it shows a status of Error, but it still is fine anyhow.

It's an ongoing issue, unrelated to the current FCM queues, that seemingly hasn't been able to be resolved.

Another update. It appears the queue is now being processed as quickly as normal. If it continues as it is, we expect the current queue to be cleared by sunrise tomorrow. However, we will continue to monitor it and ensure that it continues in this way.

Do not cancel them, simply wait a while longer. If the issue persists until, say, midday tomorrow then post up here again and we can investigate further. Chances are high they will complete between now and then.

The FCM queue is now cleared completely. Rejoice. :-)

If you are wanting to do another FCM or you've been waiting till the issue was resolved, you should be fine to do it now.

Currently it's expected we will at least continue the existing FCMs for another week, and the only changes might be expanding them a tiny bit: for example, potentially more source realms to move characters to Vek'nilash.
